About me
Joby Holcomb, Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor, received his Master’s degree from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. Joby has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families in a variety of settings including Psychiatric Medical Institutes for Children, outpatient substance abuse treatment programs, community mental health centers and private practice mental health. Joby conducts trainings across the state for various organizations schools and healthcare facilities. Joby’s specialty areas include treatment of addictions, LGBTQ+ mental health, psychological trauma, body image disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Joby has served on the board of directors for the Child Abuse Prevention Council, One Iowa, the LGBT Advisory Council for the Des Moines Civil and Human Rights Coalition and currently is on the advisory board for New Beginnings Counseling Service. Joby is currently in private practice in West Des Moines.
